Asphalius
Aspha'lius
or Asphaleius (Ἀσφάλιος or Ἀσφάλειος), a surname of Poseidon, under which he was worshipped in several towns of Greece. It describes him as the god who granta safety to ports and to navigation in general. (Strab. i. p.57; Paus. 7.21.3; Plut. Thes. 36; Suid. s. v.) [L.S]
