Offemont

OFFEMONT Territory of Belfort, France.

Remains of a large establishment from antiquity much of it in the Forest of Arsot. The following have been discovered: 1) at the place called Le Martinet, the ruins of a small fanum of native design, square with a cella (4.2 m) and a surrounding gallery (9.3 m); 2) at La Cornée, traces of a pottery workshop which produced primarily glazed roller-decorated ceramics, but also some original sigillata; 3) at Le Ballon, the still only partially excavated ruins of a large villa which, judging from the coin finds, was destroyed under Constantius II.
