Jansonius in Collectaneis existimat veram lectionem fuisse : Lixa, quum (vel qui) per milites ambulant, antiqui lixam dixerunt. Aliter emendare tentat Grævius : Lixa, Aqua. Lixæ, qui per milites ambulant. Aquam Antiqui Lixam dixerunt. Sed contendit post Vossium in Elixus et Lixa, aquam non dictam fuisse Lixa, sed Lix ; mallem igitur emendare : Lix, Aqua... Aquam antiqui Licem dixerunt. Quod spectat Lixas, dici potuerunt, per milites ambulare, ut scilicet aquam ferrent, ut mox dicuntur.
