TOCHARI

TOCHARI (Τόχαροι, Ptol. 6.11.6), a powerful Scythian people in Bactriana, which also spread itself to the E. of the Jaxartes over a portion of Sogdiana, and even as far as the borders of Serica. (Plin. Nat. 6.17. s. 20; Ammian. 23.6.57.)
