A structure functioning a gate, serving generally as an entrance to a sacred precinct.

Description: The gateway to the Athenian acropolis is referred to in Perseus invariably as the Propylaia see Architecture catalog entry for Athenian Propylaia. All other gates and gate-buildings are referred to as propylons.
