CELSA (Κέλσα: Celsensis: Ru. at Velilla near Xelsa), a city of the Ilergetes, in Hispania Tarraconensis, on the Iberus, which was here crossed by a stone bridge, ruins of which still remain. Under the Romans, it was a colony, with the surname Victrix Julia, and it belonged to the conventus of Caesaraugusta. Several of its coins are extant, belonging to the reigns of Augustus and Tiberius. (Strab. 3. p. 161; Plin. Nat. 3.3. s. 4; Ptol. 2.6.68; Marca, Hisp. 2.28; Florez, Esp.
